It's all or nothing at all!
“You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength" (Mark 12:30).
The Bible presents a profound challenge to believers: " the importance of sacrificing our time, resources, and comfort for the sake of worshiping God. It is important to worship God with our lives, as it is stated in the first commandment, which is, to love our Creator with all our being. That is, in our everyday life, our speech, behavior, words, deeds and actions. Going to church or singing in the choir is not all worship, but what we do outside the four walls of the church counts even more.
Worship is a lifestyle. Worship is sacrificial. Worship is daily, not only on your Sabbath.
Worship is not limited to singing hymns or attending church services. True worship involves surrendering our entire lives to God. In Romans 12:1, the apostle Paul writes, "Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God – this is your true and proper worship." This verse emphasizes that our bodies, minds, and spirits should be dedicated to serving God.
The concept of worshiping with our lives requires us to re-evaluate our priorities and make sacrifices. It means being willing to give up our time, energy, and resources for the advancement of God's kingdom. As King David's statement suggests, we should not offer God anything that does not require us to surrender something valuable.
The first commandment, as stated in Mark 12:30, is to "love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength." This commandment emphasizes the importance of loving God with every aspect of our being.
Loving God with all our heart means that our emotions and affections should be centered on Him. Loving God with all our soul means that our innermost being should be dedicated to serving Him. Loving God with all our mind means that our thoughts and intellect should be focused on understanding and obeying His will. Finally, loving God with all our strength means that our physical energy and abilities should be used to serve Him.
Conclusion
Worshiping with our lives and loving God with all our being are intertwined concepts that require us to surrender our entire lives to God. As we strive to worship God with our lives, we must remember that true worship involves sacrifice and devotion.
Let us heed King David's wise words and offer God our best, rather than something that costs us nothing. May our lives be a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God, as we worship Him with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength.
