God is near to the brokenhearted

Good morning beloved

I write this message today in honour of my friend Cherie who recently lost her son. I have such compassion and empathy for her. Let us pray peace, strength and comfort for her.

Dear friends remember God is NEAR to the broken-hearted.

Psalm 34:17 - 19

17 When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears

and delivers them out of all their troubles.

18 The Lord is near to the brokenhearted

and saves the crushed in spirit.

19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous,

but the Lord delivers him out of them all.

Here is an adaptation to expound on the verses above with the link to follow, if you need:

The LORD is near to the brokenhearted") is qā·rō·wḇ (קָר֣וֹב), an adjective meaning close, approaching, or nearby, conveying God's intimate presence to those with shattered spirits. This word emphasizes God's accessibility and willingness to comfort and save the contrite and crushed in heart, drawing from the same root as "offering" (korban) to show drawing near to God.

  • Word: קָר֣וֹב (qā·rō·wḇ)

  • Meaning: Near, close, approaching, or nigh

  • Context: It signifies God's immediate, tangible presence with those who are truly sorrowful and humbled.

Amen here ends the adaptation

My dear friends,

All us of will face "dark places" in this life. Some of us will face many. I call those places - "the make or break" moments.

These moments of brokenness (I call them moments in the scope of eternity) can come so suddenly and are devastating. Physical pain, not resulting in death, heals with time if tended carefully. Emotional pain on the other hand has such a depth to it - the ripples from this affects every thing in our life. We can be effected mentally and even physically from emotional pain and this can ooze into every area of our life. Sometimes emotional pain can seem to "stunt" our growth, the wound goes so deep we don't feel we will ever recover.

First thing to note is bad things can happen to good people. The word of God says time and chance happens to all and "rain" (can represent bad moments in life) falls on the just and the unjust. I say this is the first because we oftentimes will say first of all - "What did I do to deserve this?" or "How could I have prevented this?"

Now the writer of this post can testify that God is real. I have been through many deep dark places in this life, some were so shocking and traumatic, they left me almost breathless. I wondered if I would ever or could ever recover. I never had a Mother of Father's love and knew early in life - I could only depend on me.

Here is the good news my friends

It is in those "deep dark" places I discovered God and his deep love for me.

He came close (near - qarowb) to me, strengthened me, gave me the peace that passes all understanding, walked with me through, while he held me close in his everlasting arms. I found a Father who loved me better than any earthly Father could and he helped and healed me. He made my life beautiful in his time.

Amen

God binds up the broken-hearted.

Psalm 147:3 amplified

He heals the brokenhearted

And binds up their wounds [healing their pain and comforting their sorrow]

GOD heals

Not time, not any other "anecdote"

But GOD,

GOD HEALS

It won't happen overnight but he does heal

He not only heals, but he restores and somehow makes that devastating situation into something beautiful. So many ministries have been birthed out of trauma, even my own - Walk good in Christ was "birthed" during COVID, with an aim to encourage many others. We now have a subscription total of 29,100 on YouTube. So many have really experienced God and found encouragement through these messages.

As you read this message may God strengthen you this very moment, give you peace and draw you close to help and heal you. May he restore your soul and bind-up your wound.

Amen

Walk good in Christ

Till we meet again

Pastor J
