What we do in life, echoes in Eternity by Marcel & Jacqueline Bruff

"What We Do in Life Echoes into Eternity"

"The choices we make in life have eternal consequences. What we do, say, and think in this life will determine our destiny in the next." - Rick Warren

In Matthew 25:14-30, Jesus shares the parable of the talents, where a master entrusts his servants with different amounts of talents. The servants who invest and multiply their talents are rewarded, while the servant who buries his talent is punished. This parable teaches us that our actions in life have eternal consequences and that we will be held accountable for how we use the resources and talents entrusted to us.

Eternal Consequences.

Our choices, actions, and decisions in life have a ripple effect that extends beyond our earthly existence. Every moment, every decision, and every action counts. As the Bible says, "For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each of us may receive what is due us for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad" (2 Corinthians 5:10).

Bible Verses to Ponder

- "For God will bring every deed into judgment, including every hidden thing, whether it is good or evil" (Ecclesiastes 12:14).

- "Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal" (Matthew 6:19-20).

- "Each of us will give an account of ourselves to God" (Romans 14:12).

Questions and Reflections

- What am I doing with the talents and resources entrusted to me?

- Am I investing in eternal things or fleeting pleasures?

- How can I use my life to make a positive impact on eternity?

- What will be my legacy when I'm gone?

Dear Heavenly Father,

Help us to remember that our actions in life have eternal consequences. Teach us to number our days, That we may apply our hearts unto wisdom. May we use our talents, resources, and time to invest in Your kingdom and bring glory to Your name. Give us wisdom to make choices that align with Your will and purposes. We only pass this way once in a lifetime.

May our lives be a reflection of Your love and character, and may we hear the words "Well done, good and faithful servant" when we stand before You. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
