Faith will cause us to take steps forward (no looking back)

Good morning friends

There is a time for God's mercy

But there is a time for his judgement too.

During the time of judgement there is absolutely no room for error or looking back as it is the season after God has been long suffering.

Let us not be like Lot's wife who looked back and was turned to a pillar of salt.

This account is found in Genesis 19

Jesus also makes reference to this account in Luke 17 as He describes a future event: “It was the same in the days of Lot. People were eating and drinking, buying and selling, planting and building. But the day Lot left Sodom, fire and sulfur rained down from heaven and destroyed them all. It will be just like this on the day the Son of Man is revealed. On that day no one who is on the housetop, with possessions inside, should go down to get them. Likewise, no one in the field should go back for anything. Remember Lot’s wife! Whoever tries to keep their life will lose it, and whoever loses their life will preserve it” (verses 28–33).

Lot’s wife lost her life because she “looked back.” This was more than just a glance over the shoulder; it was a look of longing that indicated reluctance to leave or a desire to return. Whatever the case, the point is she was called to desert everything to save her life, but she could not let go, and she paid for it with her life. In Judaism, Lot’s wife became a symbol for a rebellious unbeliever

We should remember about Lot's wife lest we be tempted to look back. God exists in the here, the now and the future.

To get into all God has for us there has to be a "leaving behind" of everything of the old. The old ways of thinking and choosing. The old connected to the world and it's pleasures. The old wounds as the enemy just loves to trap us in that place by using the tools of condemnation, guiltiness, regret and the victim mentality.

God always wants us to move forward that is why he favours us with conviction first leading to confession and repentance.

We have got to take the steps forward today into all God said

FAITH is first believing God wholeheartedly, moving into action, then seeing the results. It is not first seeing then beleiving.

I ask God today to free us from all bondage that would chain us to the past and pollute our identity in him.

Once we are stuck in or looking back into the past. There is no way we can be walking in freedom and fulfilling purpose effectively.

A crafty tool the enemy has been using with God's people recently is trying to mimic certain circumstances to bring us to the place of asking "Wait didn't I overcome this already. Why is God allowing this one more time in my life?"

This can now "drive" us into doubt, unbelief and

even self condemnation.

Whenever the past seems to be trying to be so luminous in our mind, heart and soul. Go before God and ask him to bring healing to those old "broken" places of trauma and woundedness. I pray too that God would restore our soul and cleanse our subconscious, semi conscious and conscious memories.

We must no longer be held captive to the past because we have "looked back" and are therefore now like stationary pillars of salt.

We have too much to savour in today and tomorrow with God. We can't miss our daily portion of God’s love, blessings and favour

Let us move forward now!
