Good morning beloved
Just a reminder all in our life has been established because of God's great love, grace and mercy.
I was reflecting deeply on the fact that in spite of the turmoil all around us, we live victorious lives...just because God keeps us
We have come into victory again and again and again. His gentleness has made us great!
Psalm 18:31 - 36
31 For who is God, except the Lord?
And who is a rock, except our God?
32 It is God who arms me with strength,
And makes my way perfect.
33 He makes my feet like the feet of deer,
And sets me on my high places.
34 He teaches my hands to make war,
So that my arms can bend a bow of bronze.
35 You have also given me the shield of Your salvation;
Your right hand has held me up,
Your gentleness has made me great.
36 You enlarged my path under me,
So my feet did not slip.
This Psalm was written by King David near the end of his life - he had been through much, he overcome much, he had fought many battles and won. He knew most of all it was because of God's unfailing love, his great mercy and grace.
The Psalm starts with honouring God
Psalm 18
1 I will love You, O Lord, my strength.
2 The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer;
My God, my [a]strength, in whom I will trust;
My shield and the [b]horn of my salvation, my stronghold.
3 I will call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised;
So shall I be saved from my enemies
Amen
The words "your gentleness has made me great" from verse 35 stand out.
What could this mean for us?
Here is a commentary from
Barnes Notes from the Bible
And thy gentleness hath made me great - Margin, "or, with thy meekness thou hast multiplied me." The word here rendered gentleness, evidently means here favor, goodness, kindness. It commonly means humility, modesty, as applied to men; as applied to God, it means mildness, clemency, favor. The idea is, that God had dealt with him in gentleness, kindness, clemency, and that to this fact alone he owed all his prosperity and success in life. It was not by any claim which he had on God; it was by no worth of his own; it was by no native strength or valor that he had been thus exalted, but it was wholly because God had dealt kindly with him, or had showed him favor. So all our success in life is to be traced to the favor - the kindness - of God
Amen
Dear friends
Do not make your hearts be troubled by trials in this world. Hope in God for he will not make you ashamed. Trust him. Find rest in him, for he is a good Father. He is with you, he is for you, he will never leave you nor forsake you.
Let us stay in his presence
He will do wonders in our life.
Thank you Lord for keeping us.
You have really made us great with your gentleness and we are eternally grateful.
Continue to have your way living God, let your perfect will be done and your Kingdom come
In our lives
In Jesus name
Amen
Walk good in Christ
Nuff love and blessings
Pastor J
