The Simplicity of God's Grace by Minister Owen Mitchell

Good morning Beloved

As my wife and I prayed, as we normally do before she leaves to go to work, God’s grace flooded my mind. His grace quickly led me to acknowledge the fact that I am alive and well to give Him praise. It struck me that while I was asleep, I was dead to my surroundings; not being cognizant of any activity around me. But Grace kept me.

There is a simplicity to God’s grace that we most times over look. Christianity, while it’s difficult because of our daily walk, it’s somewhat easy because of God’s grace. “That if thou shalt confess with they mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” This marks the beginning of God’s grace upon our lives.

Simply put, God’s grace is His unmerited favor. Everything we are graced with, is God’s favor towards us. The Bible, in Romans 5:8 explains, “but God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” This beautiful grace is not because we did anything good but because He’s good. This grace is because of His love for us. “Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us, and sent His son to be the propitiation for our sins,” 1 John 4:10. This is Grace!

Saints of God, if we should accept the simplicity of God’s grace, our praise and worship will become a way of life. Think about it, all our successes or lack thereof is because of Grace. Lamentation 3:22-23, “it is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.” If we truly accept this grace, faith becomes a way of life, not fear.

God Bless.
