Topic: Succeed together
Scripture for the day: Genesis 36:7
For their riches were more than that they might dwell together; and the land wherein they were strangers could not bear them because of their cattle.
MESSAGE FOR THE DAY: The sky is very much open that planes can fly without colliding with one another. Our text says they were so rich that the land could not accommodate them, one had to take his things and move to another land. life doesn't have to be a competition, we can rise together, we can succeed together, we can become great together. Scripture was talking about Esau and Jacob, the same Esau whose blessings were stolen, he too became so great and instead of striving with his brother, he acted as a senior and took his things and went to Mount Seir. I feel like we have not given Esau enough accolades, we only usually talk about Jacob but Esau is a man to learn from. He didn't let hate stay in his heart against his brother, he didn't mind the stolen blessings, he became successful regardless. Prophecy said he will serve his brother but see him taking decisions that are in the interest of his brother. Esau is teaching us that we can succeed together, we do not have to be in a competition.
Competition mentality will continue to make you miss the mark. We are not in a quest to prove who has more or who knows more. Siblings competing to prove they are more successful than the other. Your success should be a success to others. learn to genuinely be happy for the wins of others. When Jacob thought his brother was still angry, Esau had already forgiven him and moved forward. Forgive someone today and move forward, you cannot explore the future still holding on to yesterday. Stop wishing people to fail to prove your point, we can succeed together. The quest is against poverty not against each other. Celebrate the achievement of others and make room for love and unity. The sky has a lot of space for us all to fly. If you rise, help someone else to rise, it is dangerous if you're the only one doing well in the family. Someone somewhere should be able to attribute their rising to your effort. We can succeed together, we don't have to be against one another!
Prayer:
Father, thank you for grace. Deliver us from envy and competition mentality. Help us truly love one another and help each other become better in Jesus name
