Prepare Me
“Teach me to do thy will, for thou art my God: thy Spirit is good; lead me into the land of uprightness. Quicken me, O Lord, for thy name’s sake; for thy righteousness’ sake bring my soul out of trouble,” Psalm 143:10-11. Verse 9, “deliver me from mine enemies: I flee unto thee to hide.”
The start of a new year generally causes people to reflect; thoughts of accomplishments and missed opportunities. It also enables us to set goals to achieve in the months ahead of us. These last few years, I found myself asking the Lord to continue where He has left off in the previous year. However, this year I kept praying “Prepare Me”, prepare me O Lord. The song writer puts it this way, “Lord prepare me to be a sanctuary, pure and Holy, tried and true. With thanks giving, I be a living sanctuary for you.”
As a sanctuary we are to replicate the Temple of the living God. Our lives must resemble the love of Jesus Christ. Our bodies are to be clean because it is the residence of the Holy Spirit. Prepare us Lord! Prepare us God to honor you with our bodies, to live in unity. Prepare us “…. to show forth the praises of Him who hath called you out of darkness into His marvelous light,” 1 Peter 2:9. Prepare us, “…. earnestly to contend for the faith ….,” Jude vs 3.
“Cause me to hear thy lovingkindness in the morning; for in thee do I trust: cause me to know the way wherein I should walk; for I lift up my soul unto thee,” Psalm 143:8.
God Bless.
