Praise - My Testimony by Minister Owen Mitchell

It all started some days ago, encounters after encounters, confrontations after confrontations, left me feeling down. I did some introspection as I normally do, trying to figure out where I went wrong. I devoted myself to much prayer, asking God’s forgiveness and His direction. I asked God, what is the purpose of this and what are you teaching me?

I have made it a part of my life, no matter how many times I wake up during the night, I would pray before going back to sleep. I did so this particular night and when it was actually time to get up, I literally saw and heard the word “Praise”. For the rest of that day, I kept seeing the word Praise.

Praise has a number of meaning but we can say without error, that it expresses approval. Biblically, praise is an act of extolling and glorifying the creator. Praise refers to our admiration and gratitude to God and also God’s character through His sovereignty, His goodness and His mercies. Psalms 150:6 declares, “Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise ye the Lord.”

Praise is also a means of drawing closer to God; it shows our dependency on God and not ourselves. Praise is God centered and not self-centered. Praise is also an essential tool in spiritual warfare. Even Jesus Himself offered praises to God in Matthew 11:25.

Saints of God, clothing ourselves with Praise is clothing ourselves with God. God is Praise!

God Bless.
