Our source of Power & Authority
Good morning Beloved
We have power and authority.
There is a finished work at Calvary's cross -
we need to appropriate that power.
With the acceptance of Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour and the infilling of the Holy Spirit - Resurrection Power is our "inheritance"
Here is what was done at Calvary's Cross
Scripture: Colossians 2:15
“And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.” — Colossians 2:15 (KJV)
The finished work of Jesus Christ at Calvary is the foundation of our power, authority and victory as believers. When Jesus went to the cross he triumphed over the powers of darkness. Through His death and resurrection, He disarmed principalities and powers, exposed their defeat and broke the power of sin over those who belong to Him.
What appeared to be the darkest moment in history became the greatest demonstration of God's sovereignty, dominion and power. The enemy thought the cross was his victory, but it became the place of his defeat. Jesus paid the price for our sins, cancelled the record of debt that stood against us, and made a way for us to be reconciled to God. The cross was the place where "IT IS FINISHED"
As Christians, we must understand that our authority does not come from our own abilities, strength or righteousness. It comes from our relationship with Jesus Christ and what He has accomplished on our behalf. We do not have to live in fear, intimidation or constant defeat, because we belong to the One who has conquered death and triumphed over the powers of darkness.
This does not mean that we will never face spiritual battles, trials or opposition. Rather, it means that we face them from the position of Christ's victory. We are called to stand firm in faith, put on the whole armour of God (Ephesians 6:10–18), resist the devil (James 4:7), and exercise our authority in submission to Christ and obedience to His Word.
We must stop living as though the enemy has the final say over our lives. Our confidence is not in our ability to fight the enemy in our own strength, but in the finished work of Jesus Christ. Through Him, we have access to the Father, the power of the Holy Spirit, the authority of His name and the promises of His Word.
Beloved, Calvary has changed our position! We were once under the dominion of darkness, but through Christ we have been delivered and brought into His Kingdom (Colossians 1:13–14). We are no longer slaves to sin, fear and condemnation; we are children of God, called to walk in the freedom, victory, power and authority secured for us through Jesus Christ.
Therefore, let us stand boldly in our faith, pray with confidence, speak the truth of God's Word, and live in a manner that honours the One who has redeemed us. Our authority is never an invitation to pride or self-reliance; it is a call to walk humbly in the victory of our risen Lord.
The cross was VICTORY - The tomb is empty, Christ is risen, and His victory stands forever. We do not fight to make Jesus victorious; we stand firm in the victory He has already won!
Declaration of Faith
Through the finished work of Jesus Christ at Calvary, I belong to God and stand in the victory of my Saviour. I will not be ruled by fear, intimidated by darkness or defined by my past. I walk in faith, stand upon God's Word, resist the devil and live under the lordship of Jesus Christ. My confidence is in Christ, my authority is under Christ, and my victory is through Christ. Jesus has triumphed, and I will walk in the Power and Authority.
I have been given authority over devils and demons, sickness, disease and infirmity.
I walk Victoriously
I WALK GOOD IN CHRIST
In Jesus' mighty name, Amen!
Luke 10:19
19 Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you
