Luke 2:8 - 14
8 In the same region there were shepherds staying out in the fields, keeping watch over their flock by night. 9 And an angel of the Lord suddenly stood before them, and the glory of the Lord flashed and shone around them, and they were terribly frightened. 10 But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be for [f]all the people. 11 For this day in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord (the Messiah). 12 And this will be a sign for you [by which you will recognize Him]: you will find a Baby wrapped in [swaddling] cloths and lying in a manger.” 13 Then suddenly there appeared with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host (angelic army) praising God and saying,
14 “Glory to God in the highest [heaven],And on earth peace among men with whom He is well-pleased.”
Dear friends
Merry Christmas,
There is a lot of talk about whether Christians should celebrate Christmas or not. As I listened carefully to the Lord.
Think on this carefully - there is no proof that Jesus Christ was born on December 25th and in studying the history of Christmas it did originate as a Pagan tradition.
My dear friends how could we miss though a holiday that celebrates the birth of Christ and the Spirit of Christ reigns at this time with such fellowship, joy, love, sharing and giving.
We must make this an all year round habit, but why not share the holiday with such love and warmth with family, friends and extend to all who we come in contact with.
I pray for you to come into a deeper love relationship with God, where you can inherit his peace that passes all understanding and joy unspeakable even when it is not Christmas.
In a world of chaos, confusion and turmoil, peace is to be treasured.
Jesus came to bring peace on earth. First and foremost, He came to make peace between God and rebellious, sinful human beings. While we were God’s enemies, “we were reconciled to God by the death of His Son” (Romans 5:10). Jesus paid the penalty for our sins so that God’s wrath could be turned away from us and we could have peace with God. This peace and forgiveness are available to anyone who trusts Jesus for salvation: “Since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ” (Romans 5:1).
May we not miss the opportunity to spread the love of Christ on this earth at this time
I love you dear friends and I am praying that God will bless you in such abundance at this time and as we begin 2024.
May God be glorified not only in this season but always
May you experience HIS peace and joy like never before
Bless you and nuff loves
Pastor J
