Jesus Christ is Lord of all
Jesus Christ is not merely a prophet or a teacher; He is Lord over all creation. God has given Him the highest place of honour, authority and power. Everything in heaven and on earth is subject to His lordship.
The Bible declares that Jesus is King of kings and Lord of lords, and His authority will never come to an end. As Christians, we must recognise Him as Lord over our lives, our families, our decisions and everything we possess.
Philippians 2:9–11 "God highly exalted Jesus and gave Him the name above every name, so that every knee should bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord".
Acts 10:36 "Jesus Christ is Lord of all".
Revelation 19:16 "He is called King of kings and Lord of lords"
.
Jesus Is Lord Because He Is God.
Jesus is divine, the Son of God, and He existed before all things. Through Him, all things were created, and in Him all things hold together. His lordship is not something that began when He came to earth; He has always existed.
John 1 teaches us that the Word was with God and that the Word was God, and that the Word became flesh and dwelt among us. Therefore, when we honour Jesus as Lord, we are acknowledging His divine nature, His eternal existence and His power over creation.
John 1:1, 14 "The Word was God, and the Word became flesh and dwelt among us".
Colossians 1:16–17 "All things were created by Him and for Him, and by Him all things consist".
John 10:30 "Jesus said, “I and my Father are one.”
Jesus Is Lord Over Sin, Death and the Grave.
Jesus demonstrated His lordship through His death and resurrection. He gave His life on the cross for the sins of humanity, was buried and rose again on the third day. Through His resurrection, He conquered death and made salvation available to everyone who believes in Him.
Sin no longer has to control the life of a believer, because through Jesus Christ we can receive forgiveness, freedom and new life. Jesus is the risen Lord, and death could not hold Him in the grave.
Romans 6:9 " Christ, being raised from the dead, dies no more; death has no more dominion over Him".
Romans 10:9 " If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved".
Revelation 1:18 "Jesus declares that He is alive for evermore and has the keys of hell and death".
Calling Jesus Lord means more than speaking His name; it means submitting our lives to His authority. We demonstrate His lordship through obedience to His Word, love for others, holiness, forgiveness and faithfulness.
Jesus taught that not everyone who calls Him Lord will enter the kingdom of heaven, but those who do the will of His Father. We must therefore allow Jesus to direct our thoughts, words, actions and relationships.
When He is truly Lord of our lives, our decisions should reflect His character and His teachings.
Luke 6:46 Jesus asks, “And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?”
John 14:15 “If ye love me, keep my commandments.”
Romans 12:1 " Present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable unto God".
Closing Declaration
Jesus Christ is Lord! He is Lord over my life, my family, my future and all creation. He is Lord over sin, death and every power of darkness. I will trust Him, obey His Word and acknowledge His authority in everything I do. I declare that Jesus Christ is the risen Saviour, the King of kings and the Lord of lords. At the name of Jesus every knee shall bow and every tongue shall confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Amen!
