Intimacy
Please allow me to take you back to the beginning. Genesis 1:1, “in the beginning God created the Heavens and the earth.” This verse sets the stage for what was to come, signifying the start of God’s intimacy with His creation.
The intimacy between God and man became evident after they were created. The Bible says in Isaiah 43:7, “even every one that is called by My name: for I have created him for my glory, I have formed him; yea, I have made him.” Humanity was created to give God glory. Intimacy with God involves communication, worship, living for Him and even the very choices we make.
Intimacy is having a close familiarity and or friendship with someone. It’s an atmosphere of comfort, one of peace, knowledge and partnership. “And the Lord formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life and man became a living soul,” Genesis 2:7. Intimacy.
In chapter 3, we read where God came down regularly to be intimate with His created beings. But the inception of sin caused humanity’s breakdown with God. Thank God Jesus came and shattered the middle partition, giving us an opportunity to build back intimacy. If that wasn’t enough, the Bible tells us in John 14:26, that the Father will send the Comforter who is the Holy Spirit to bring us back into unity with Him.
God Bless.
