I murmured, have you?
“And the whole congregation of the children Israel murmured against Moses and Aaron in the wilderness,” Exodus 16:2.
After experiencing the great victory at the Red Sea and the singing and dancing that ensued, there was a murmur. How many times has the Lord taken us through a situation only to find ourselves murmuring as we embark on another challenge? How many times has the Lord proven Himself able and we just murmur away from His abilities?
Murmuring shows a lack of faith, ingratitude and is a sign of a corrupted heart. This will hinder our relationship with God and restrict His blessings. Saints, please remember God is our provider, our Jehovah Jireh. Murmuring in essence produces a cycle of negativity. Murmuring also takes us back; comparing what was to what is. The children of Israel thoughts took them back to “…. when we sat by the fresh pots, and when we did eat bread to the full; ….,” verse 3.
Murmuring is an act of grudging and complaining. This did the people and this we do very often, when what we need to do is pray. Moses prayed to the Lord and He provided for the people of Israel. Moses said to the people in vs. 7, “…. in the morning, then ye shall see the glory of the Lord.” Murmuring takes us backward, but faith moves us forward. How are you moving, backwards or forward?
God Bless.
