Having Knowledge but no Encounter
Saints of God, I greet you in the Mighty Name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I thank God for you all and pronounce a blessing over you today.
The word of the Lord says in Acts 9:3-4, “and as he journeyed (Saul changed to Paul), he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven: And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?” This was Paul’s encounter with the Lord.
Prior to this encounter, Paul was versed and very knowledgeable in the things of God. In defense of himself, after being captured, he said in Acts 22:3, “…. yet brought up in the city at the feet of Gamaliel, and taught according to the perfect manner of the law of the fathers, and was zealous toward God, ….” Paul was rigorously trained by Gamaliel for years and had extensive knowledge of Jewish scriptures and the God of the Old Testament. Even though Paul had all this knowledge of the scripture, he never had an encounter with God.
With all this knowledge, in 22:4 he said, “…. I persecuted this way unto the death, binding and delivering into prisons both men and women.” Paul thought he was doing right by persecuting the Church. How many leaders and ministers of the gospel have knowledge and no encounter? How many so-called Christians are persecuting the Church because they have not had an encounter with God? Have you had an encounter with God?
God Bless.
