Good morning beloved
Let us give God thanks giving
The words “thank,” “thanks,” and their variations are used 139 times in the King James Version of the Scriptures. In the New Living Translation they are used 168 times
The Bible also mentions the word "gratitude" (χάριτι and other variations in Greek) 157 times
We should really have a posture every moment of expressing gratitude to God for his goodness, love and every perfect gift (salvation being the main one, for he made a way for us to be reconciled to him)
We can give God thanksgiving in ALL circumstances - through prayer, praise and worship.
Thanksgiving is not just as an emotion, but an action, an offering which comes automatically from living a lifestyle of Worship
I find myself throughout the day just whispering Thank you Lord. When you know my testimony - I am a walking talking testimony of God's miracle working power. He has truly touched every single area of my life with his goodness.
If you think carefully and count your blessings you will realise you have much to thank God for.
There are so many characters in the bible who gave God thanksgiving even in hardship, the Apostle Paul being the chief one in the New Testament and King David being the chief one in the Old Testament
These characters are truly Greats of the bible
Because they learned the art of Giving thanksgiving even in the midst of hardship.
Shouldn't we do the same?
Here are the words of David
Psalm 34 was written by King David around 1060 BC. It was composed after he fled from King Saul and escaped from the city of Gath by pretending to be insane before King Abimelech. This event is recorded in 1 Samuel 21.
Not pleasant circumstances at all but this is what he wrote
Psalm 34
1 I will bless the Lord at all times;
His praise shall continually be in my mouth.
2 My soul makes its boast in the Lord;
The humble and downtrodden will hear it and rejoice.
3 O [a]magnify the Lord with me,
And let us lift up His name together.
4 I sought the Lord [on the authority of His word], and He answered me,
And delivered me from all my fears.
5 They looked to Him and were radiant;
Their faces will never blush in shame or confusion.
6 This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him
And saved him from all his troubles
Amen
Paul wrote letters to Thessalonica where they had started a church but written after they experienced hardship as Thessalonica proved to be a hostile environment for the gospel. Paul and Silas had to leave the city prematurely and also had to encourage the remaining Thessalonians because they saw many to their church brethren struck down and even killed because they served Christ.
Here are the words Paul wrote WHILE FACING HARDSHIP
1 Thessalonians 5:16/17 AMP
16 Rejoice always and delight in your faith; 17 be unceasing and persistent in prayer; 18 in every situation [no matter what the circumstances] be thankful and
Let us remain in a place of thanksgiving
It is the precursor to honouring A Holy God as we thank him that he chose us, to reveal himself to us and draw us close so that we could know him in a deep and intimate way
It is the precursor to accessing his presence we enter his gates with thanksgiving
It is the precursor to Praise and Worship
It is the precursor to accessing the dimension of the miraculous as we begin to thank him in advance for his divine intervention - he really does answer our prayers
We need to thank God with every breathe
Even in our worst moments we can still thank God
Psalm 100
1 Make a joyful shout to the Lord, [a]all you lands!
2 Serve the Lord with gladness;
Come before His presence with singing.
3 Know that the Lord, He is God;
It is He who has made us, and [b]not we ourselves;
We are His people and the sheep of His pasture.
4 Enter into His gates with thanksgiving,
And into His courts with praise.
Be thankful to Him, and bless His name.
5 For the Lord is good;
His mercy is everlasting,
And His truth endures to all generations
Amen
Give God thanksgiving
We WILL bless the Lord at all times
His praise shall continually be in our mouth
Walk good in Christ
Till we meet again
