Christianity

Christianity has been on my mind for the last few days. The perception, the concept, it’s meaning, everything it signifies and encapsulates. I listened to people who consider themselves Christians and their actions are less to be desired. The difficulty we face is not in the confession we make but in our living.

Simply put, Christianity is being Christ-like, Christ-centered, Christ-focused. This is aligning one’s self to the principles and the life of Christ Jesus. Many people believe by just accepting that there is a God and reading the Bible, that automatically means they are a Christian, not so. Romans 10:9 says, “if thou shall confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” Without this belief, confession and acceptance, how can you be a Christian?

Christianity is centered around LOVE, John 3:16 explained, “for God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that howsoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life,” 1 John 4:8, “He that loveth not knoweth not God because God is Love.” We are predestined by God to be conformed to Jesus Christ’s image, Roman 8:29.

Being a Christian is a gradual progression, it is the continuous growth through Christ. This growth and progression are based on our faith in the only One that is “…. able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, Ephesians 3:20. Are you truly Christian?
