Breaking the Cycle by Jacqueline and Marcel Bruff

Breaking the Cycle.

(Embracing Wholeness in Christian Families)

As Christians, we've seen the difference between broken and blessed families. The contrast is stark, and it's not limited to one community. Historical, cultural, and socioeconomic factors play a role, but there's hope for change.

Syncretism within Christianity.

Syncretism blends different beliefs, practices, as well as culture, diluting Bible teaching and true faith.

In Christian families, this can lead, firstly to Confusion on values and priorities, secondly to Struggle with identity and purpose. And thirdly to Cycles of dysfunctionality.

Below I have listed 3 Pathways to Wholeness and breaking the cycles.

1. Self-Awareness. Recognize patterns and hurts. _Proverbs 4:23 "Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it."

2. Emotional Intelligence. Understand and manage emotions, build healthy relationships. Ephesians 4:32 "Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you."

3. Socioeconomic Empowerment Pursue education, financial stability, and community support.

_Philippians 4:19 "And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus."

Scripture verses for reinforcement.

- Joshua 24:15 "Choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve."

- 2 Timothy 1:7  "For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control."

-God's reassurance in faith. Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

- Practice Truth. Align life with God's Word. Psalm 119:105_ "Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path."

- Engage Community Support and be supported. Galatians 6:2 "Carry each other’s burdens, and thereby fulfill the law of Christ."

Heavenly Father, guide us to break cycles of brokenness. Grant self-awareness, emotional healing, and wisdom. Empower us to live out faith authentically, impacting individuals lives, family relationships  and communities. In Jesus' name, Amen.
