Are you a Living Sacrifice by Marcel & Jacqueline Bruff

Are You a Living Sacrifice?

As believers, we often struggle with surrendering our lives to God. We tend to hold on to our

opinions, plans, and control, thinking we know what's best. But the truth is, our limited

understanding and self-reliance can hinder God's work in and through our lives.

In Genesis 2:21, we see God putting Adam to sleep to perform a miraculous work. Why?

Because Adam would have tried to interfere, telling God what to do and how to do it! Similarly,

when we try to control our lives, we limit God's ability to work in us and through us.

The apostle Paul understood this concept. In Galatians 2:20, he wrote, "I have been crucified

with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me." Paul recognized that his own life,

opinions, and strength were insufficient. He surrendered to God, allowing Christ to live through

him.

When we face challenges or uncertainties, we often try to take control. But what if we were to

trust God with our lives, just as we trust our doctors with our physical health? Psalm 139:13-16

reminds us that God created us, knows us intimately, and has ordained our days. Can we not

trust Him with our lives?

Trusting God means we surrendering the following (3).

1.Our Opinions! Recognizing that God's ways are higher than ours (Isaiah 55:9)

2. Our Plans!

Understanding that God's plans are better than ours (Proverbs 19:21)

3.Our Control!

Acknowledging that God is sovereign and in control (Psalm 103:19)

As we surrender to God, we can experience the following (3).

1.Experience Freedom!

From the burden of self-reliance and control

2. Experience Peace!

That surpasses understanding, even in uncertain times

3.Experience Power! The divine enablement to live a life that honors God through the Holy

Spirit.

Dear Heavenly Father,

Help me to surrender my life to You. I acknowledge that my opinions, plans, and control are

insufficient. I trust that You created me, know me intimately, and have ordained my days. Lord!

Take my life, and let Christ live through me. Give me the courage to trust You with every aspect

of my life. Fill me with Your peace, freedom, and power.Jesus! May I be totally dead to self, and

alive to You. Amen.
