Who's your right-hand man?

Who’s your right-hand man?

Who is it that you trust, that supports you and encourages you? Who is it that is there for you when you need them the most, who?

A right-hand man is a person who is given authority and honor; a most trusted advisor who is always close at hand. In Genesis 35:16, the Bible speaks of Rachel going into hard labour. In verse 18 when Rachel was dying, she named her new born son Benoni which means son of my sorrow. Jacob quickly changed his son’s name to Benjamin, meaning, “son of my right hand or son of strength”.

Who is it that has your back? The name Benjamin represents a transitional time in Jacob’s life, a time he moved from sorrow into strength and power. This highlights the Biblical theme of the scriptures, where God turns pain into blessings. It also points to the coming “right hand man”, Jesus. The physical manifestation of God’s strength and ability to act. “Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with thy right hand of my righteousness,” Isaiah 41:10.

Saints of God, I introduce to you my right-hand Man, Jesus. “Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God,” Hebrews 12:2. I introduce you to the Man that, “…. wilt show me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore,” Psalm 16:11. Make Jesus your “Right-hand Man”

God Bless.
