What's your heart saying by Minister Owen Mitchell

What’s Your Heart Saying?

Christmas has been a major dispute for centuries, Christmas. Some religion and many Christians gravitate to the belief that December 25, is not the day Jesus Christ was born and rightfully so. There’s nothing in the Bible or a command given by Christ that we are to celebrate December 25 as the day He was born. But what is your heart saying?

As the time draws nearer and nearer to Christmas, I find myself praying about this very controversial day. Firstly, allow to clear the air with this scripture, “let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of a holyday, or of the new moon, or of the Sabbath days,” Colossians 2:16. It baffles my mind though, that we can celebrate our birthdays and not Christ’s.

The Lord placed this thought in my mind, “why is it there’s a yearly memory of everything in life? Everything that’s established in this world is recognized yearly on the specific day it was established. I instituted marriages and it’s celebrated yearly, why not me?” He went on to say, “I was not born on December 25th but don’t I deserve a day that’s celebrating my birth? If not the 25th of December, then when?” What’s your heart saying?

Jeremiah 17:10, “I the Lord search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.” What’s your heart saying?

God bless and Merry Christmas!
