Think on these things by Minister Owen Mitchell

"The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: ….,” St John 10:10. This scripture came alive to me the other day, while watching a program on the television.

The story was told of four young men who were best friends and lived together. These boys were on football scholarships in very prominent colleges. Two of the young men attended the same college and one was in training to be a coach. Dave (not his real name) was given a task by his head coach to go and find out the weaknesses of the other two friends because they played for different teams. The reason being, they were having a homecoming game in which both teams would be playing against each other.

Evidently this would have been a major task because these were his best friends. The coach sweetened the pot by offering him an assistant coach position, if the task is completed and done to his liking. Dave went to his former coach for direction. The advice was given for him to proceed because this is what opposing teams do. They seek and familiarize themselves with the weaknesses of players on the opposing team, prior to a game.

The Lord is saying to us today, in this game called life, there are two teams, team Light and team Darkness. The coach that governs team darkness knows our weaknesses and strategically uses it to destroy us and it’s constant. But I say to you today “the Lord is my (our) light and my (our) salvation; whom shall I (we) fear? The Lord is the strength of my (our) life; of whom shall I (we) be afraid,” Psalm 27:1.

God Bless
