There is safety in Submitting to Godly Leaders

Dearly Beloved

I find many in the Body of Christ to be out of God's order, never get to the place where you are so convinced you heard from God perfectly.

I have sat in service with Leaders who were so convinced they heard from God, but at the end of it I saw that they walked through the consequences of their wrong choices.

I sit under the covering of a Bishop who I respect very much because of the fact that he surrounds himself with a Church and Pastors Council (a group of Advisors) and

He is also "undercover" from the group of Leaders appointed over him.

I follow his example of listening to wise council and submitting to authority

I myself in the last 6 months decided on a course of action in two situations, thinking I heard from God, but I have always learned the wisdom of submitting to Godly authority when making major decisions

I checked with my Bishop and another Man of God Pastor Samson (who has offered covering for many years) and they both spoke the same thing - quite the opposite of what I thought to do.

I submitted to what they said and I tell you those situations worked out perfectly and in record timing.

If you ever believe that you are hearing from God 100% - you are operating with Pride. The word of God says this:

1 Corinthians 13:8/9

8 Love never fails. But whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away.

9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part.

I pray you will learn the wisdom of submitting to authority.

Here is the truth:

There is a place of safety, protection and spiritual growth in submitting to godly leadership. God has not called us to walk alone. He places people in our lives who can guide us, correct us, encourage us and help us stay on the path He has ordained for us.

Hebrews 13:17 says:

“Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls…”

Godly leaders are not called to control us; they are called to watch over our souls. Their responsibility is to help us grow in Christ, recognize danger, avoid deception and remain faithful to God.

Submission is not weakness. It is humility. It says, “I don't know everything. I am willing to listen, learn and receive godly counsel.”

Proverbs 11:14 tells us, “In the multitude of counsellors there is safety.”

There is safety when we allow mature, godly people to speak into our lives. Sometimes a leader will see something we cannot see. Sometimes correction that initially feels uncomfortable is actually God's way of protecting us.

So let us have hearts that are teachable, humble and discerning.

Don't resist godly correction because it challenges you. Don't reject godly counsel because it is uncomfortable. And don't isolate yourself when God has placed trustworthy spiritual leaders around you.

There is safety in godly submission because God can use godly leadership to protect our purpose, strengthen our faith and keep our feet on the right path.

Prayer:

Father, give me a humble and teachable heart. Help me to recognize the godly leaders You have placed in my life. Give me wisdom to receive correction, discernment to recognize truth, and grace to submit to leadership that is aligned with Your Word. Keep me protected, grounded and walking in Your purpose. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Walk good in Christ

Nuff love and blessings
