Children of God, take a good look at this scripture in 2 Timothy 3:12, “yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.”

For days I have been reflecting on my life and the life of other Christians; the failures and the successes. Listening have to messages and prayers of devoted saints of God. They are many preachers-motivational speakers, that tend to evade the thought of a Christian suffering persecution.

Paul used the books of 1st and 2nd Timothy to encourage his son in the Lord. In verse 11 he said “…. what persecutions I endured: but out of them all the Lord delivered me.” Opposition is a natural consequence of our faithfulness to God. In 2 Corinthians 11:23-30, Paul spoke of all he went through for the gospel because of the godly life he lived in Christ Jesus. For this cause he suffered many persecutions. He was beaten, imprisoned, scourged, suffered reproaches and reviling. Nevertheless, Paul endured because of his determination to spread the Word.

Persecution speaks to the pursuing of one with hostility and intent. The world hates us Christians because of our devotion to Jesus Christ. The Bible in John 15:18 says, “if the world hate you, you know that it hated me before it hated you.” Are you, me willing to suffer for Christ? “If we suffer, we shall also reign with Him: if we deny Him, He also will deny us,” 2Timothy 2:12.
