The Maestro
“In the beginning God created the Heaven and the earth,” Genesis 1:1. “The earth is the Lord’s, and the fullness thereof: the world and they that dwell therein. For He hath founded it upon the seas, and established, it upon the floods,” Psalms 24:1. Maestro!
The word maestro is associated with a conductor or a musical director. Its origin is found in the Italian word master or teacher, meaning, the one who holds a higher office. A picture of an elegant orchestra is formulated in my mind, everything in-sync. Everyone moving cohesively and being led by the maestro, the conductor of this very fine symphony. Perfection lies in this leader. The team of musicians are fully focused on the maestro’s direction.
Where He leads, I will follow, I will go with Him, with Him all the way. A Christian’s Maestro is God the Father, Jesus the Son and the Holy Spirit. In biblical theology Jesus is referred to as the Great Maestro. Jesus, the one who orchestrates believers’ lives. It speaks to unparalleled authority and perfect knowledge. The Maestro, meaning Deity, an authoritative Teacher, Divinity, a Schoolmaster or a Tutor.
As we bask in the significance of this week and what it portrays, let’s reflect on its true meaning, the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus. I pray as we meditate on our Maestro, we will draw nearer to the cross and what it represents. Our Maestro is alive and well and He conducts from a point of authority. “And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, all authority has been given to me in Heaven and on earth,” Matthew 28:18, NKJV.
God Bless.
