Resilience by Minister Owen Mitchell

Inspiration

Resilience

I write this inspiration today with my home country Jamaica on my mind. I pray that the hand of God will be upon His beautiful island and people, in the Mighty name of Jesus. I pray He will restore the country to its original beauty and fruitfulness in Jesus’ name. Thank you, Lord, for all you are about to do in Jesus Mighty name.

“And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; And patience, experience; and experience, hope; And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given to us,” Romans 5:3-5.

Her name is Melissa, which means honeybee in the Greek. Ironically, what she did to Jamaica was far from sweet. Every disaster brings people together. This is the time kindness is shown more than any other time. These are the times people pray and call upon God more than ever. All of us are going through or have been through a Melissa in our lives. The Bible in 2 Timothy 2:12 says, “if we suffer, we shall also reign with Him: if we deny Him, He also will deny us.”

The irony associated with Melissa continues. Melissa is also linked to the name Debora, who’s character exemplifies endurance, resilience and perseverance. It speaks of one’s determination while faced with challenges. “We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed,” 2 Corinthians 4:8-9.

I pray we will be resilient in our pursuit of normalcy.

God Bless.
