Profession but no Possession by Minister Owen Mitchell

What are you carrying, the knowledge with no evidence?

During a service I attended some time ago, a visiting Pastor gave me Isaiah 61:1. “The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tiding unto the meek; He hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound.” These words were also quoted by Jesus in Luke 4:18.

I heard of a dream just the other day that spoke to my heart. The dream encapsulated what is now and what is to come. In the midst of it, there was an urgency for the Churches and Christians to be clean. The knowledge of the word of God is professed but there is not much possession which is the evidence of the word. John 14:12, Jesus said, “…. he that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.”

Saints of God, profession and possession should work cohesively, when there is belief inevitably there is evidence. “Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. …. Thou hast faith, and I have works: show me thy faith, without works and I will show thee my faith by my works, James 2:17-18.

The Spirit of the Lord produces, it’s not passive but active. It allows and enables us to go out and preach, bind up broken hearts, proclaim liberty and opening prison doors. The Lord God Almighty has entrusted much in us, I pray our faith will be visible as we do His will in Jesus Name.

God Bless.
