May God give us the Spirit of truth

We have need to ask God for the Spirit of Truth. There is a proliferation of lies all over this world. What doesn't help is that the ones who are supposed to operate with truth ie. The church and the body of believers seem to be caught in a "web of deception". This is as a result of those representing Christ oftentimes not even being connected to "the vine", because they have lost their connection through compromise or lukewarmness.

John 16:13 AMP

But when He, the Spirit of Truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth [full and complete truth]. For He will not speak on His own initiative, but He will speak whatever He hears [from the Father—the message regarding the Son], and He will disclose to you what is to come [in the future].

Here is an adaptation to define the Spirit of truth:

"God gives each individual a portion of this spirit that empowers our brains with the capacity we call mind so that man is able to know “the things of a man.” This refers to the human knowledge developed by human reasoning and discovery―the knowledge of philosophy, the arts, the sciences, etc.―all the fields of human knowledge.

Paul uses the function of the “spirit of man” as a comparison to the function of the Spirit of God. As the “spirit of man” enables us to understand the “things of a man,” the Spirit of God enables us to understand the things of God―His spiritual truths. God gives His Spirit to us so “that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God” (verse 12).

As Paul explains, “But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned” (verse 14). No one without access to God’s Spirit can even begin to understand the spiritual truths of God.

The Holy Spirit—the Spirit of truth—enables us to understand things that are beyond our physical, material world"

We have need of the Spirit of truth and discernment in these days - As a "symptom" of being in the last days is many will be deceived.

Matthew 24:24

24 For(A)false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive,(B)if possible, even the elect

Matthew 24:4-5(KJV)“And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many”

Prayer

Father we need you every step of the way, we need your light and life to permeate every area of our life and every fibre of our being. We don't want to be part of those who believe there is a Christ, but only know of but do not know God in a deep intimate way. Give us the Spirit of Truth. Lead us and guide us in all truth. Cause us to live each day in the light of your truth.
