"I Will Not Leave You Comfortless"
As we navigate life's twists and turns, it's easy to feel forgotten, abandoned, or overlooked. Families, friends, and even spouses can, at times, neglect or forsake us. But in the midst of these earthly disappointments, there is a profound promise that echoes through eternity.
"I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you" (John 14:18).
Jesus' words, spoken to His disciples before His departure, are a testament to God's unwavering commitment to His children. He assures us that, no matter what hardships or rejections we face, we are never truly alone.
The Holy Spirit is our Comforter, He is always with us, guiding, supporting, and reassuring us of God's love.
The Spirit of Truth.
Jesus introduces the Holy Spirit as the "Spirit of truth," who will be with us forever. This promise is not limited to a specific time or place; it is an eternal guarantee that God's presence will always be with us.
A Sweet and Reassuring Reality
As you reflected on John 14:18, the sweetness and reassurance of God's promise brought tears to your eyes. This is a testament to the profound impact of God's love on our lives. When we grasp the depth of His commitment to us, it can evoke powerful emotions, comforting our hearts and reassuring our souls.
Living in the Assurance of God's Presence
So, how can we live in the assurance of God's presence, especially when faced with feelings of abandonment or neglect? Here are a few reminders:
God's love is not based on human relationships.
His love is unconditional, unwavering, and unrelenting.
The Holy Spirit is always with us. As our Comforter, He guides, supports, and reassures us of God's love.
We are never truly alone. God's presence is our constant companion, even in the darkest moments.
Conclusion:
As we cling to the promise of John 14:18, may we find comfort, reassurance, and peace in the unwavering presence of God. May His love be the anchor that holds us fast, reminding us that we are never forgotten, never abandoned, and never alone.
