“Whoever listens to you listens to me; whoever rejects you rejects me; but whoever rejects me rejects him who sent me.”
(Luke 10:16)
Christ suffered rejection here on earth, these verses were spoken even as he sent out the disciples.
We will also suffer rejection too even as God's choden people.
While nothing can change the past rejection, the psychological sting or emotional wounds of rejection, it doesn’t have to knock you out for life.
My friends recognising that rejection is a part of life and though some may take longer to overcome rejection, it should not cripple you for life.
Process your emotions when you identify or encounter rejection, the feelings of anger, depression and self pity must not define your presence or future.
Please my friends don't allow rejection to define you, surround yourself with friends and love ones that are positive spiritual mentors and role models. Whatever gives you a sense of comfort include it into your everyday, examples; Bible reading, gospel songs, preaching videos and positive Christian YouTube influencers.
Once you feel comforted, begin examining your feelings to identify which emotions are driving your anger, depression or self-pity and make a plan to address them.
It is important to also be a part of a prayer group that you can make requests to offer prayers to break the traps of the side-effects of rejection.
In addition remind yourself that you are loved by God with an everlasting love and you are fearfully and wonderfully made.
"For the LORD will not reject his people; he will never forsake his inheritance" (Psalms 94:14)
Grow from the rejection experience. Now that your emotions are beginning to rebounded and you’re feeling more like your old, confident self, it’s time to take a critical look at the situation.
You now understand the process, and the next time you face rejection, you’ll be better able to recognize what you’re feeling and how to deal with it.
Regardless of the past experience of rejection, you’ve learned and grown from the experience, as such you are now able to edify other saints in the body of Christ.
"The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone". (Psalms 118:22)
Finally forgive Those Who Rejected You, forgiveness does so much more than simply release the offender from the effects of our resentment, it also releases us, setting us free to live a life of peace.
