Got you any mountains by Minister Owen Mitchell

There is a television series I enjoy watching. This particular week, all the main characters had major issues they had to deal with in their lives. Much like our everyday life and the challenges we face. These complexities do not only affect us Christians but also unbelievers. In Matthew 5:45, Jesus spoke these words, “…. for He maketh His sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and the unjust.

Oscar Eliasar penned it this way in his song “Got Any Rivers”. Got any rivers you think are impossible? Got any mountains you cannot tunnel through? God specializes in things that are impossible and He can do what no other God can do. Isaiah 43:2, “When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.”

Mountain is har in the Hebrew, which means a raised land formation, a hill or major peaks. Biblically mountains symbolize a place where Heaven and earth meet. A place where divine encounters and revelations from God occur. Mountains also symbolizes our climbing journey to draw closer to God. The belief is, when we are faced with mountains, we don’t climb them to draw nearer to God, we walk around them.

As we face various challenges God is saying to us today, if you seek me, you will find me on your mountain. Luke 3:5, “every valley shall be filled, and every mountain and hill shall be brought low, and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough ways shall be made smooth.” He’s able!
