Fasten your seat belt by Minister Owen Mitchell

Fasten Your Seatbelt

Fasten your seatbelt, Christianity is about to get bumpy. 1 Peter 5:8, “be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about; seeking whom he may devour.” Are you securely fastened to God through Jesus Christ?

This metaphor, figuratively speaks to the preparing of one’s self for the turbulences that are ahead. It is literally saying, challenging and difficult times are inevitable. These intense times are normally unexpected and requires mental fortitude. Brace yourself! After hearing all his children, servants and cattle were killed, Job rented his mantle, shaved his head, fell to the ground and worshipped, Job 1:13-20. “Though he slay me, yet will I trust him; ….,” Job 13:15.

Job’s seatbelt was fastened. God is our seatbelt. He provides the protection and the security we need as we go through turbulent times. This does not grant us immunity from harm and difficulties but its security and assurance will secure us.

God’s security can only be accessed though faith and knowing the truth of the word. Prayer activates our seatbelts and all the safety that’s wrapped up in it. “Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil,” Ephesians 6:11. In other-words, fasten your seatbelt by praying for God’s covering daily.

God Bless.
