Good morning everyone
DO CHRISTIANS NEED DELIVERANCE?
Scripture: John 8:36 – “If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.”
Many believers ask this question:
“If I’m born again, do I still need deliverance?”
The short answer is: Salvation gives you a new spirit, but your soul, mind, emotions, habits, and sometimes your body may still need freedom.
1. Salvation Is Instant, Freedom Is Progressive
When you give your life to Christ, your spirit is saved instantly (2 Corinthians 5:17).
But your mind, emotions, and patterns are not automatically renewed overnight.
That’s why Paul told believers:
“Be transformed by the renewing of your mind” (Romans 12:2)
If everything was instantly fixed, there would be no need for transformation.
2. A Christian Can Be Saved and Still Be Bound
You can be born again and still struggle with: • Anger
• Lust
• Fear
• Addiction
• Depression
• Rejection
• Generational patterns
• Nightmares
• Spiritual oppression
Jesus said:
“These signs shall follow them that believe… they shall cast out devils” (Mark 16:17)
Notice: Believers cast out demons—not just from unbelievers, but from people who need freedom.
3. Deliverance Is Children’s Bread
Jesus said:
“If the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed” (John 8:36)
Freedom is not just for unbelievers.
It is part of the inheritance of God’s children.
Salvation gives you life.
Deliverance gives you liberty.
Healing gives you wholeness.
4. Why Some Christians Still Need Deliverance
Because: • They were exposed to trauma
• They inherited family patterns
• They experienced abuse
• They practiced occultism before salvation
• They formed destructive habits
• They were wounded deeply
Deliverance is not a sign of weakness.
It is a sign of hunger for wholeness.
5. Jesus Did Deliverance as Part of Ministry
Jesus preached, healed, and delivered.
The apostles preached, healed, and delivered.
If Jesus needed to deliver people, why should we pretend we don’t need freedom?
6. Deliverance Is Not About Demons—It’s About Dominion
Deliverance is not demon-focused.
It is freedom-focused.
God doesn’t just want you saved—
He wants you free, stable, healed, confident, joyful, and whole.
Prayer Declaration
Say this aloud:
Father, I thank You for salvation.
But I also receive total freedom.
Every hidden bondage, be broken.
Every pattern of affliction, end now.
Every chain in my mind, emotions, and body—break!
I receive wholeness in Jesus’ name. Amen.
