“And the Angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush; and he looked, and, behold, the bush burned with fire, and was not consumed,” Exodus 3:2. The consensus is, this is one of the greatest mysteries of the Bible.
The presumption was, this is a regular occurrence, being in a desert where bushes burn regularly. Nevertheless Moses was drawn to this mystery because the bushes weren’t consumed. The mystery wasn’t done there, God spoke to him from the burning brush, vs. 4.
So it was with the children of Israel, God’s chosen, so it is with us Christians today. All around us they are fires of affliction but God is in the midst them. Ironically, God spoke to me and showed me where we are His representatives when we go on the mission field. People are being afflicted daily by satan but it’s God’s desire that none is consumed. In the midst of everything we face in society today, God is in it with us.
“When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither the flame kindle upon thee,” Isaiah 43:2.
God Bless.
