Begin afresh today

Each day presents us with an opportunity for a new beginning.

We need not stay chained to the past and to the old patterns and rhythms.

No matter how bad yesterday was, no matter how far one had fallen, no matter if we failed, it is past, it is gone, we cannot recapture it.

We can begin afresh right this very moment. We may even have to walk through the consequences of our choices, but God will give us the grace, once we have repented.

God never wants us to remain chained to the past.

He gives us the night to rest from the day's toilings and the new day begins with such freshness as a new dawning.

So it is spiritually

Lamentations 3:22 - 27

22The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases;

his mercies never come to an end;

23they are new every morning;

great is your faithfulness.

24“The LORD is my portion,” says my soul,

“therefore I will hope in him.”

25The LORD is good to those who wait for him,

to the soul who seeks him.

26It is good that one should wait quietly

for the salvation of the LORD.

27It is good for a man that he bear

the yoke in his youth.

Here is the key to experiencing refreshing in the Lord

40Let us test and examine our ways,

and return to the LORD!

41Let us lift up our hearts and hands

to God in heaven:

42“We have transgressed and rebelled,

and you have not forgiven

Let us test and examine our ways and return to the Lord.

The lamentations were written after God's people had been taken into captivity. God had sent prophets to warn them repeatedly, but the people did not listen.

The Prophet still hoped in God because he had proven God to be merciful and faithful (verses 22/23)

May God give you strength to walk away from anything that binds you, so that you can walk in true freedom and liberty.
