Are we living a life of compromise by Minister Owen Mitchell

ree

It is mind boggling how exposed we are in society today. Everything is just up in our faces; no one is discrete with their thoughts, sexuality, promiscuity anymore. Violence has no restrictions; whenever, however and wherever, everything is fair game. Same with attire, there’s no limit to what is worn and who’s doing the wearing. It’s like the atmosphere is tainted.

I remember the days when could turn the television on and not have any reservations but now it’s totally different. James 4:4, “ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the fellowship of the world is enmity with God? Whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.” This is such a strong statement. Are we living a life of compromise?

Paul spoke these words to Timothy in 1 Timothy 6:20, “…. keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called.” Paul is warning him against useless, profitless discussion, theological controversy and distasteful arguments. Science falsely so called, is interpreted, ‘the knowledge which is falsely called’. True knowledge only comes through the Spirit of the living God. Are we living in compromise?

I realize even in our daily life, we are compromising with the very things God has asked us to stay away from. We compromise because many times the people that’s associated to these life-styles are close to us, our children or other family members. We have to contend with fellow workers, hiding the truth of the gospel and what we stand for. I called us today to STAND, stand in the Mighty Name of Jesus.

God Bless.
