A Stand Out

I was given this inspiration by God earlier this week while on a prayer line. A Stand Out! Are you a stand out? The fact is, as Christians we are Stand Out’s.

The Bible speaks of types and shadows and this story is considered as one. Genesis 37:3, “now Israel loved Joseph more than all his children, because he was the son of his old age: and he made him a coat of many colours.” Joseph was a stand out because he was favored by his father and given not just a coat but a coat of many colors.

Today as children of the living God, we are favored by Him. After accepting Jesus Christ into our lives, we are clothed with the Holy Spirit. Jacob and his son’s relationship is a type and shadow of our relationship with God. The brightness, the uniqueness, the design and what the coat stood for, brought hate and envy. So it is when we are favored by God and clothed with His Holy Spirit. The enemy hates us for our decision and wants to, sift us as wheat, Luke 22:31.

We are targeted by the enemy because we stand out and we are a stand out because of the Holy Spirit. Joseph’s coat signifies favoritism from his father; through the Holy Spirit we are favored by God and His grace. “Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, ….,” 1 Peter 4:12. What we are carrying within us and the light that shines off us, make us a constant target. Will you be a Stand Out?
