A Position of Great Favour.
In the Bible, we see men like Joseph and Nehemiah rise to positions of influence, not just because of their abilities, but because they were in a place of God's favour.
When the Ark of the Covenant was at Obadiah's house, blessing overflowed in everything that household possessed (2 Chronicles 1:4). This phenomenon isn't limited to biblical times; it's a principle that can be applied today.
When God blesses you bountifully, others will greatly pour into you, and you'll be catapulted into a place of undeniable grace and more grace. As Psalm 5:12 says, "For you, O Lord, bless the righteous; you bestow favor on them like a shield."
The Effects of God's Favour
-Vindication: God's favour can bring vindication, even in the face of opposition. Like Joseph, who rose from prison to become second-in-command in Egypt (Genesis 41:41-44).
Alignment of Purpose: When you're in God's favour, your life aligns with His purpose, and you'll impact those around you. Nehemiah's rebuilding of Jerusalem's walls is a testament to this (Nehemiah 2:18).
Overflow: God's favour isn't just for personal benefit; it's meant to spill over into the lives of others. As Proverbs 11:25 says, "A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed."
Three Benefits of God's Favour.
1. Increased Influence: God's favour can open doors and grant you influence in unexpected ways (Esther 4:14).
2. Protection and Provision: God's favour brings protection and provision, even in challenging times (Psalm 41:11-12).
3. Divine Opportunities: When you're in God's favour, you'll encounter divine opportunities that align with His purpose (Acts 7:10).
Conclusion
Being in a position of great favour isn't just about personal blessing; it's about being a vessel for God's grace to flow into the lives of others. As James 4:6 says, "God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble."
Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for positioning us in Your favour, Lord, Your grace has visibly overflowed in our lives, and is now spilling into the lives of those around us.
May we walk in humility and alignment with Your purpose, receiving as well as giving others.
Father may we use wisdom, knowledge and understanding when transferring these blessings and opportunities to others.
Lord, You have prepared us for this season. May we run well.
In Jesus name
Amen!
