A good deed by Minister Owen Mitchell

Good morning Beloved

A Good Deed

“And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men ….,” Galatians 6:9-10.

The only Bible many people will read, is the Bible they read in you. This is a quote I heard from a well-known Pastor in the States. This means, if our actions resemble that of the Bible, the Bible would be read by many. It is also challenging us to live according to the word of God. When was the last time you did a good deed?

A few days ago, while trying to get some salt for the drive way, I had an encounter with an older lady. The store sells two different sizes, the larger weights 44lbs and the smaller is half the size. After doing a little calculation, I concluded it would cost less to purchase the larger bag. The older lady was to the left of me, taking two smaller bags. She then questioned us about the differences between both bags. After answering I proceeded to the cashier but I noticed the lady taking the two smaller bags out of the trolley to get the bigger ones. I turned back and gave her a hand. Her response was so comforting, she said ‘God Bless’.

“He that diligently seeketh good procureth favour: but he that seeketh mischief, it shall come unto him.” Proverbs 11:27. Procureth in Greek means, to obtain through efforts – to seek. We obtain favors from God through us doing good. Psalm 34:14, “depart from evil, and do good, seek peace, and pursue it.” What is stopping you from doing good – doing a good deed? I felt a feeling second to none when I helped, so will you.

God Bless.
