Later will be greater

Later will be greater….

The Bible suggests in Colossians 3:2 to “set your affections on things above, not on things on the earth.” The word mind is used in other translations for the word affections.

My mind has been on a tear lately, filled with thoughts of the Heavenly Kingdom and what awaits the children of God. Such as, am I living my life here on earth as if it’s my forever home? Why do we speak more of the issues of this life as opposed to our life to come in paradise? Is it because our natural minds are not able to understand Heaven’s concepts, its beauty and comfort? Is our mind set on the things above?

The Bible covers this subject beautifully. Peter said in 1 Peter 2:11, “…. you are strangers and pilgrims ….” In other-words, we are just passing through, this world it is not our home. Philippians 3:20-21, “for our conversation is in Heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall change our vile body, that it be fashioned like unto to His glorious body, ….” This is where mortal will put on immorality, 1 Corinthians 15:53.

Saints of God, we are riddled with physical, emotional, financial, mental and relational pains and these will continue in this life because of sin. A day is coming when we will be free from all of this, an eternity of joy. A day when “…. God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain, for the former things are passed away,” Revelation 21:4. Are you ready? Later will truly be greater.
